Another problem bear was trapped 2 weeks ago in Walpack (Water Gap). The owner of my campground told me that it was caught between his property and the Walpack Inn. Was raiding Walpack's garbage, scaring employees, running through the campground. Weighed in at 732 pounds. The locals don't think he was the big one that used to raid Walpack's dumpster. No word on where it was relocated to. My question is what part of NJ is more remote than Walpack that you would relocate a bear to? Especially one that size.

The pines.[hihi] Believe it or not they even relocated a bear or two to Six Mile Run (Franklin Twp. Somerset County) dont know why you would relocate a bear to such a populated area of the state.

I was told the "Policy is / was to relocate to the nearest WMA OR State park/Forest thusly when a bear is trapped / cought in say New Brunswick etc. nearest will still apply that is why Cheesequake, 6 mile etc will get em in a way they were there already.

You dont get much more remote than Walpack. My guess would be pa where they are actually allowed to hunt them.

I wish they would relocate them to the Governor's doorstep.

they probably did not relocate it, they dont do that very often, they usually just blast it with rubber buckshot, and some mortor type thing when it wakes up, and they hope it does not come back

I think they should relocate them to WMA's as close to NY or PA as possible and they could also charge those states a bear restocking fee.[hihi]

They are there already..And have been for a few years according to one of the rangers i talked with..
