Still no deer yet but today was the best day yet. Went out early, saw 3 doe running down a path I take to get in, couldnt understand what they were running from, 5 min later the Military police patrol car zoomed past the fence where the doe were. 10 min later the buck with the big brow tines comes strolling down the path sniffing the trail that the doe were on. I grunted a few times and he headed down another trail straight at me, about 50 yards from my stand when the guard comes back from the other directon and the buck took off!! Was the most exciting day Ive had yet in the field!!!

I've outdone myself this week. The buck with the big brow tines showed his face today. Believe it or not he showed up at the exact same time he did last week. Hid behind some brush sniffing at the tinks I sprinkled on a deer path I found. Circled back the way he came from, so I thought he was gone, used my grunt call (Thanks Tommy for tip!!!) and about 5 min later started to smell something similar to a bottle of buck urine spilled on my head. I realized he circle through the think brush around behind me. I waited for him bow in hand, but he circled back around at 40-50 yards into the way he came and disappeared for the rest of the day. He never scented me or had any idea I was in the tree. It was the most amazing, heart pounding day I've ever had yet. God bless him come M/L or shotgun season.
He's lucky I'm only good at 25 yard shots with my bow.
