best advice i can give you is once the bear goes down put one more shot into him . you have no idea how many bears are lost every years cause they get back up and run off.

Sometimes a bear will scream when shot. Not a moan. Sounds like a baby screaming. The hair will stand up on yer neck and your manhood will be challenged lol.

Where did you end up hittin the bear? ....couple inches behind the should double lug shot an slug lodged in skin on off side.

How far did your bear run? .... Made ur 30 yards screaming like a mad man!!

Did you hear the death moan? ..... Never heard one before but right before it died it let out a big grumble with its last breath.

What kind of blood trail did it leave? Not to much it went down so fast the fat clogged the hole up good.

How long did you wait before trailing? ..... I saw she was dead but waited 20m to relax.

Got one the last bear hunt (not last year think in 05 it was) Took two shots. One in the front shoulder and the other was the kill zone. Front shoulder will knock it down and the other will be the kill shot. 330 pounds dressed. Took 6 of use to get it out of the woods. Zone 1

One shot 50 caliber muzzle loader. About 60 yard shot. Bear was running up a steep hill. Dropped bear in its tracks! Death moan yes. Reloaded and ran up to dead bear.
