From the BEAR Group. Seems they have someone "inside" that leaks information. Please plan to show up on September 21st. Bus information for "our side" will be available shortly.

Save the Date and Speak Up for the Bears on September 21!

Bus Available!

The public hearing on the state's comprehensive bear management plan
will be on Wednesday, September 21!

Wednesday, September 21, 2005
6-10pm
Multi-purpose room B
Cook College
Cook Campus Center
59 Biel Road
New Brunswick, NJ 08901-8508

Please note: You may have heard early reports that the hearing would
be at the State Museum, but hearing has been moved to Cook College
in New Brunswick because the museum will be under renovation.

We did not attend the Fish & Game Council's game code hearing en
masse because the decision on the bear hunt was not ultimately up to
the Fish & Game Council. The decision is now in the hands of DEP
Commissioner Bradley Campbell, and the September 21 hearing is where
we really need to speak out!

The proposed comprehensive bear management plan is not yet available
to the public. The plan will be available on the Division of Fish &
Wildlife's website http://www.nj.gov/dep/fgw/ on or around September
6, and will also be published in the September 6 issue of the NJ
Register, which is available in larger public libraries. At the
September 21 hearing, the state will accept public comments on the
plan, which reportedly includes non-lethal management as well as
hunting.

The media will attend this hearing and will report on the amount of
opposition to the bear hunt. We know that the public is opposed to a
bear hunt, and now we need to show the media, the DEP and the
legislators that New Jersey does not want a bear hunt. Not in 2005 -
or ever!

We expect the state to also accept written comments, so instructions
for submitting written comments will also be posted soon.

Please be there and speak up for the bears on September 21!

I'll try to make this one.

Unlike the anti-hunt wackos, most of us are gainfully employed.

Leaving work early will be tough.

Maybe we should reserve all the seats on the bus, take the ride, and voice our opinions. ;):p

That is the best tip of the day I've heard on here ever :)

I may be late but I will be there. Does everyone that attends speak?
