I know it is not to shoot turkeys of bait,but how close to a bait site can you hunt or when do you have to stop baiting prior to the turkey opener?

You cant shoot a turkey within 100 yards of a bait pile.

100 yards on private and public?I think that could make for a bad situation on public for the hunter not knowing there is a bait site there.Guy who like to run and gun for birds could end up in the wrong place

Yes It could,but I don't know why anyone would have bait out this time of year on public land?

it's easier then deer, they are only feeding during daylight.
but both are wrong.

We set up Decoys when we go Turkey Hunting its fun watching them run in to the Decoys and start strutting around. Im not sure about a distance for hunting bait.

Max I don't get it.. We have a handful (3) of sites that are filled with Buck Chow. They drop maybe 1.75lbs a day of the pellets & don't need to be filled for months. i will check batteries every 6 weeks but that is it. Not that big of an investment & we think we have seen some inprovment.

Rd,I agree that you are helping with what you're giving them,maybe I misunderstood or assumed you were talking about guys continuing to put out plain old corn which really does nothing for antler development.
