I spent 3 days in Pa. Never even SAW a deer till I was on the way home. And that one was almost a BUMPER BAMBI. I've never seen so many hunters on a State Game Land. One of my guys pulled into the main lot and it was so crowded ( 32 cars) that he started looking for the Valet parking attendant [sad]
I went on top of the mountain so I didn't see another hunter til late afternoon. No deer either.
I shoulda stayed home. My wife said that when she went in to bait one of my stands on Monday, she spooked a big racker ( 10 pts. she believes ), off the bait [sad]
Unless I can find some better ground for next year, Pa. is OUT for me !!

It was tough in PA for us too. We hunt in northern Wayne county near the NY state line on my grandparents dairy farm and Monday was a complete fog bank. Snow was still on the ground but you could only see 30-40 yards for most of the day.

My father took a nice 8 (doe bleat brought him in from the fog) but other than that we did not see another shootable buck. In fact out of 6 guys we only saw about 10 deer in total of which two were bucks (a Y and a spike). We have taken a couple of nice 8's the past 3 years but this year was lean.

I have a photo how do you post it?

well once agian, let this be a lessen to the New Jersey hunters. This is what happens when you have rules like we have here in NJ, with this unlimited antlerless crap. Im sure for the ones with a antlerless tag would take one even if it was the only deer seen in days, where by you should let it walk so it can produce more deer.

That seemed to be the thoughts of most of the hunters up there. This is the 3rd year of the increased doe permit quotas and it seems too have thinned the herd just a little too much.At least on the public grounds. Sounds familar to me. I think the same thing is going to happen here. Hell, it's already happened [mad]

the paper, and PA game commision is saying that no one is seeing alot of deer cause of the warm weather, and because of less does. This is what Dr. Gary Alt intended was to reduce the number of does. I guess it worked, cause I didnt see a thing, hopefully when I go out saturday I will see something

Hey Ian, on Tues. afternoon, we scouted a little in the Delaware State forest off 447. Looks like good ground. We might go there next year as well as hooking up with you. We talked to a few hunters there, who said it doesn't get too busy. We only saw 3 trucks parked there when we drove through it. The game land we had just left had 15 trucks in the parking lot [sad]
Oh by the way, I did get something up there while hunting,
A COLD AND A SORE THROAT [mad][mad]

Out of 5 guys and one girl (my aunt)... we got one 8 pointer (my dad's friend).

Opening day my aunt "passed" on a bear.

Matty filmed me the first 2 days... we did not see anything... except for 1 or 2 squirrels...and 3 turkeys.

JerseyJim and another guy named Nick did not see anything.

Almost zero shots on Tuesday. Few shots on Monday.

Hunting over bait can make people forget what Hunting can be like without it.

I shot a 94lb doe on Monday morning then was back in the stand by 10. She was the only deer I saw until I left last night.
Hmmmm, not questioning you on taking a doe, but my question/comment is this: If you saw one deer all week, why did you take it?

You should of let her walk, she would of produce some babies for next year
