Area opens for special hunters

You sure don't have to be a youth or a disabled hunter to appreciate the new Wading River Special Use Area, although sportsmen in those two groups will be the only people allowed to hunt at the site.

Doug Walker, chairman of the New Jersey chapter of Ducks Unlimited, said anybody with an appreciation for nature's beauty would benefit from an early morning visit. He's been there at that time of day, and Walker said the Burlington County landscape at sunrise borders on being paradise.

"It's fabulous," he said. "When the sun comes up, the whole marsh turns orange and purple."

I am glad the state did this. Our license fees hard at work. I think they should have more of them. I also think they should have more fishing access sites.
