Go to a big orchard they do their pruning in Dec and should have piles of brush and even dead trees if they don't chip em and if they do thats even better for you.
Apple wood will leave a very bitter taste to the meat unless the wood is aged nearly a year. Just take an apple seed and bite it-that's what the new wood atste's like. Be sure the wood you use has been dry aged for at least 12 months before smoking with it
