My preference for Griffs aside, nobody "lost" that dog.[confusedagain] Looks like health issues were too much for the owner. Heartbreaking!

Agreed. Help is available through a variety of sources. Some emergency vet/specialty hospitals have funds for those who can't afford treatment. But if that doesn't work, relinquishing your dog to breed rescue is ALWAYS preferable to abandonment. Do right by your dog.
