I never hunted down in Jackson, Ocean county. I was wondering if there are a lot of deer in the area. The area I may be going is basically old sand pits and pines with a few oaks here and there. It seems like a hard place to hunt, just visability wise. Anyone hunt in the area??

THERE ARE NO DEER IN JACKSON!!!!!!! just kidding PM me I've been hunting there since I was 11(I'm 32 now) I know some good public spots you could try out.Just watch out for chiggers early season!

I do. there are no deer there and it's polluted with hunters. Stay out[rofl] the chiggers are really bad this time of year. you will think you have a bad case of poison ivy. Once october hits the chiggers aren't as bad. I hunt off of Leesville rd and the hunting is decent. I hunt a small parcel behind a friends house that dumps into big woods. If you can get a piece like that you can do really well. there are some tremendous deer if you hunt hard and smart.

I hunt there all the time, good amount of deer but you really have to be patient and hunt hard to get the bigger bucks around those parts

nope no deer down in jackson. this is why i had to get hunting land up north.lol we hunt allprivate farms soit would be hard for me to say anything about the property your hunting. ask sq2 though. he knows everything down there

Im not all too familiar with the area, I'm on the Manchester/Jackson line. There's got to be deer there, just a lot of woods

Nope, we don't have any deer there. As Hetley stated, we have 8-10 different private pieces in Jackson that we hunt, so i can't tell you much about any public land. Colliers Mills holds some deer though and it's huge. Check that out. Oh, and what everyone is saying about chiggers...yeah, they are 100% right!
