I saw a pretty neat little tip in the NJ Fishermen's Magazine this week.

When your knife is dull, and you don't have a sharpening stone, ceramic sticks, etc...to sharpen them, turn over your favorite used coffee mug and use the bottom rim/ring to sharpen your knife.

I tried it and it really works well in a pinch!!!!! They say it even works on the bottom rim of a new mug that still has ceramic glaze on the bottom, but the older/more used the mug, the better.

I want to try it but I'll have to wait till my wife isn't around! She thinks I'm strange enough! I don't need her to see me using her dishes to sharpen my knives!

You better watch out, eventually they will come and get you with that LONG sleeved jacket and padded van.

Tried to get me a few times, but I through on my mossy oak camo and made my way to the top of a tree. They kept me treed till night fall, but I was able to scare them off with stories of the Jersey Devil.
