there is a small population of cats in my town, some old dude feeds them all the time. im going to find out if they are atleast snipped, there is no reason for cats to be outside, i hate when i see people let their cats out, i hate when i see them in woods. in my opinion you should be able to shoot feral dogs and cats in the woods, they just dont belong.

Where in Hamilton Twp are you having this problem? I live in Hamtilton and I have never heard of this. I hunt in a few places in Hamilton and I havent come across any cats.

There is a group of cats that lives by my house somewhere....Always sneaking into my garage and making a mess of things! There were 5 of them but I've only seen 3 lately... Not sure what happened to the other 2????

If they have no collars is fair game. When I use to hunt Barbertown, Baptistown all that area back in the 70's there were a lot of feral cats. At that time rabbit hunting was my live. I use to own up to 10 beagles at one time. Any way on quite a few accasions I would have the dogs run one of this feral cats, and quite a few times my dogs would either tree the cat or they would put their back up against a dead fall or creek bank and put up a good fight. Must of the time I had to end up shooting the cat or have a few wounded dogs.
The area were I hunt now has quite a few of them. They live in abandom farm machineries, and they are quite adapt to hunting small birds and rodents. I have seen them kill a bird and just leave it their. Just don't have the heart anymore to do was is right.

I'm not sure when the law changed, but it was leagel to shoot uncollered cats back in the 60's some other solutions.
1. Tell a chinesse restaurant about the location.
2. coyotes
3. shoot them.

NJ hunting licenses used to ask hunters to shoot feral cats and dogs on site. Back when people had the balls to do the right thing. Invasive species.
