I am new to hunting (bow only right now). I have gone out to six mile run a few times with no success. Does any one have advise for hunting in multi-use locations? Or public land in general?

Welcome to the site. Six Mile ruin has some good deer there. You just have to put on the foot miles to get away from others. Good area

Be mobile in your set-ups. Use a climbing treestand to make adjustments according to deer movement even in a given day. Thick cover and drastic terrain changes are good places to start.

Find the thickest cover you can find, set up on trails around that cover. Basically go where most aren't willing to go as that is where the deer will be.

Like mentioned above, do you have a climber? If not you are at a severe disadvantage. The public land hunter needs to be mobil.

Mobile until you find good areas and very patient after that . Do not over hunt one area . Have a few different areas that you can move according to wind . Most public areas deer are very cautious. Watch your movement and scent. As said above a good climber will help . Good Luck

Good area. As others have mentioned, get in deep and be mobile. Play the wind and be as scent free as possible.

Get yourself a climber. Get in deep, and look for sign. Runs in between bedding/feeding areas are a god place to start.
