COPYIED FROM ANOTHER SITE THOUGHT FOLKS WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

Subject:Video of Staff Sgt. Beale's return home

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 .

The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A SIMPLE NOTICE IN LOCAL PAPERS INDICATED THE ROAD ROUTE AND APROXIMATE TIME

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places.

The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored.

thank you for the post....tonight, my kids will watch this...and then they will understand why I tell them that whenver they see an American serviceman, or woman, that they are to thank them for their service.

Thanks for the post. I know in Mt. Holly they just held a welcome home for soldiers.

I know now more than ever I have seen more soldiers being thanked. When I was in high school and the Gulf War was going on, it was quiet.

But this one... I have seen attention being paid.. but you're right it will never be enough.

What I have seen in sadness is parades having trouble going because of money. This was one way year after year we could pay respect to those who served locally. I think this country is loosing its identity.

God bless this brave soldier and his family for their sacrifice. Without these men and women there would be no Freedom so I hope we as a country will never ever overlook them. I know I won't.

Shoot Straight!

the offering is always cheaper than the sacrifice giving!!and people rarely understand that or take it for granted!! just because they give us a few holidays on the calender to remember these folks, doesnt mean we cant do it everyday of the year[up]

My cousin sent this to me last week and she said
"This is why they love living in the south".
My question is why don't you ever see that kind of respect around here?
Very moving piece.
