My sister lives down in Egg Harbor Twp and sent me these pics of 2 Eagles that were locked in battle in her neighbor's yard. They heard some screeching and found the 2 on the ground. They sat on the ground for an hour before animal control came to unlock them. As soon as the AC got a sheet to cover them, they just got up and flew off. They let my Brother-in-law get close enough to lift the wing. Crazy. Lived down the shore for years and never saw anything like that.
beautiful I have had them fly by me while hunting in NJ. I had another land in a tree 30 yards from me. It made me sit extra still was awesome looking at it from 30 in binoculars.
Sure it was "battle"? Dunno when their breeding season is, but I know eagles mate in the air, locking talons....maybe they forgot to let go!!! lucky they didnt totally crash and both die!
I bet all the golfers on this site loved seeing this "double eagle".....OK I know that was a really bad joke.
