Took the kids fishing at the tenakill creek at the ball park behind the duck pond,right next to the tennis courts. At around 5 pm a small herd of 15 deer ran over, crossed the stream and took off into the woods. Very surprised at the numbers. Always see lots of sign there but never that many at once.

The Demarest Nature Center is located back there and there is a sizable deer population along with some turkeys. People have seen some monster bucks in the area and of course there is no hunting at all.

I grew up in CLoster and now live in Old Tappan and there are definitely a ton more deer than when I was a kid growing up. Check out the resevoir near Closter/Harrington Park some night..
