28deg's outside here, getting ready to go hunt

another short morning, Called in a 7pointer that has to be 3.5 - 4.5 years old. Gray face, romen noise, big body,sway back, and a small belly hanging. I used the "can" and called him in around 7am. He wasn't moving like in the "RUT" but he was looking for the DOE. The small funnle area I hunt ( #1 spot )is great when the "RUT" hits, but no "RUT" yet... I'll be out Monday Morning , afternoon, evening.. Now there is a 6,7,8,10 pointers in my area so I feel good at getting one of them. Any will made a nice first Buck with a long bow.

just got in - 8 does and 2 small bucks. I also don't think heavy rut yet - though both bucks were looking for does. It will kick in down here in the next week.

Also got a cal on my cell phone @7:50 from a freind who is out in Michigan. First day he is hunting this morning and killed a 140 cl [no swearing please] 10 pointer and had a 180 B&C non typical at 35 yards but could not get the shot. Called me from his stand after he wathed the deer crash. Sad thing is he asked me to go with him but I couldn't go - too much with my 3 kids right now.

Always next year - I will post the pics when he sends them to me.

I had the same 5 point piebald walk right under me at 7:50. At 9:40 I hear leaves rustling and here a buck grunting. He chases a Doe out of the thick stuff buck stays about 60 yards away. I take out the Binoculars and spot him. Holy sh!&. He's 18"-20" wide and has m [no swearing please] alll the way to the tips.8 points. I tryed grunting and used my primos can. He wanted nothing to do with me. He stayed in the same spot for 30 minutes with a grazing Doe. .Then at 10:10 he just walked off with the doe. I came down shortly after.I ll be after him all next week.

what happen to the small gamers pushing the deer for us? There was no one around small gamming[mad][down] I saw 5 deer all small, sammy saw 2 deer also, no shots, and No sign of the rut. While driving to our spot we saw a really nice 8 pointer in the corn field, and he was alone, a buck like that should of had a doe with him

BHC, what wma were you hunting...you might have been hunting a wma that wasnt stocked as good as the others...

i never made it out[down]. overslept. i was too tired from the manual labor i did yesterday...lol

i did get out this afternoon to hang my stand on the club i just joined.

if you were hunting private property, how were you expecting small gamers to hunt there..why would they hunt pheasant on an unstocked peice of land..

Mack, i would assume he was hunting private property ajacent to a wma or to some other property that is stocked.
