Had a great Morning - saw 5 different bucks all in range to shoot - and all n the prowl. 4 of them were 1.5 years - 4,2 5;s and a 7 point.

I passed on a 2.5 year old perfect 8 point. probably the best buck I didnt shoot in the past 3 or 4 years. Rack was outside the ears - just no m [no swearing please] yet, and the g2's were only about 5 inches - he will be a slammer if he can make it through to next year. Very cool to have one like that right under neith, and not to pick up the bow.

On the other hand - had I not shot my 9 point already - I would be posting pics instead of telling the story.

Cant wait till tomorrow morning!!

Saw one fawn doe, two spikes and 9 turkeys. Passed on a 1.5 year old 7 point out to the ears last night because he had 4 inch tines and no mass.

I will be out tomorrow. Started a new job this week that has made me a Saturday hunter until Winter Bow. I also still need a doe, so hopefully I can get her tomorrow.

Had a buck under me again, Didn't shoot my antlerless yet.:( Took a picture of it, the flash went off and the battery was dead and didn't record the picture. He just looked and walked while I was changing batteries. Got out of te stand 10 min to early. Packed everything in at 10:25, threw the stand on my back, picked up my bow only to see 2 deer running across the trail, I knelt, knocked an arrow but they kept going.[mad] It beez like that some time.

Was out yesterday and saw 1 chipmunk and plenty of leaves. Sat on powerlines all day. Over the years we have taken 1-10 4-8's and 1/2 dozens 6's from this area. Figured they'd be movin seeing it was first coldsnap and it rained all night Wed. Rifle opened here in NH Wed. Today I skipped out early to take the 5yo. First we had to get to Wal-Mart to get some new gear seeing how he grew since last year. I'll probably hit the woods from 3 until dark if he lasts that long since it is blowing good today up here. Gotta keep him interested seeing how the youth are the future of our sport.

Weird day in Zone 2. Hunted last night and saw nothing from the stand but 13 does and 2 small bucks in our food plot on the way out. My Dad blew a shot at a 4pt and saw 3 does.

THis morning seemed perfect; scent out/cold/etc. Had a small buck come into the scent at 6.08 but couldnt make out the rack as it was still dark. Saw 4 yearlings and passed a spike. This was all between 6.30 and 8.30am. It actually snowed a little but was cold and windy for the most part. Stayed until 10.15 and saw NOTHING else.

Posted part of the property and checke out my gun stand until 11.30am. Feel very confused and disappointed as this is my 4th time out. We did whack a lot of bucks last year so who knows the impact?
