means nothing.. more crossbows are faster than compounds than not[eyeroll] and that matthews cant hold itself drawn it has to be hand drawn:D

higher arrow speeds offer no real advantage anyway when hunting due to the very short flight times all arrows/bolts have at the ranges shots are commonly taken.

for example, it has been said that the average bowhunting shot is 20 yards so i'll use that range:

hunter #1 shoots a bow/crossbow at 350fps, his arrow will reach 20 yds in 17 hundreths of a second

hunter #2 shoots a bow/crossbow at 250fps, a significant 100fps slower, his arrow will reach 20yds in 24 hundreths of a second

whats the difference? 7 hundreths of a second, that's all, not even close to making a difference in the real world.

speed is just a marketing ploy that all bow and crossbow companies use and us hunters have been programmed through advertisements into believing that the higher the speed the better the product is

i totally agee with you that speed means nothing, it's just that in the past, some anti-crossbow hunters have tried to insinuate that the speed of crossbows made them superior to compounds when in fact there are compounds that are just as fast.

there are also alot of compound bow hunters who apparently feel the same way. if there was no market for very fast compounds the manufacturers wouldn't make them
