    2015-2016 Deer Contest Prizes

    Hi All,

We have already had quite a bit of harvest action this short into the season! This is great stuff and congrats to all that have scored!

With regards to prizes, as I said when I started the contest, I will donate prizes to the winning team. I will stick to that commitment!

I was just wondering if we wanted to start a VOLUNTARY donation pool to increase the prize availability? Would anyone be willing to donate some money to increase the prize allotment?

If so, how envision this working would be sending checks to me, that I would pool to increase the prize scope. I have a paypal account, but would rather do it old school to ensure there is a good audit trail. What I would do is post your NJHunter Username, truncated, when I received your donation, so you would know it was received, but still remain anonymous. This way, you know I got your donation, and it was going to where it needs to go. I am more than willing to post my home address if you want to hunt me down for stealing your donation.

How the prizes would distributed would depend on how much we get. I would love have enough to distribute cabelas cards to the top three teams. But we'd have to just see where it goes.

So, its up to the crowd. As said, this just an idea and would be completely voluntary. Let me know your thoughts, and we'll take it from there.

    Thanks,
    Scott

I'd be willing to kick in, but would really like to see some of the money go to a charity. A lot of good charities worthy of a donation, childrens cancer, wounded warriors, make a wish foundation, etc. Maybe it could be setup as a 50/50, where 1/2 the prize money could go to the winning teams charity of choice? Just throwing it out there. If my team were to win, I'd prefer my share go to a worthy cause, as opposed to a Cabelas gift card. Either way, good luck to all teams, maybe I should get out so I can get some points on the board

This is certainly a great idea. I just wouldn't want to manage that myself through this forum. The individual of course could always handle this themselves. If you win a $20 gift card, there is nothing stopping you from donating it, or equal cash to a deserving charity. And don't forget the tax deduction!

    Love the 50/50 idea Farva!

We should meet up and present one of those oversize checks - whats the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
