Nothing. Zilch except squirrels. Chilly this morning.

On the way out I found a huge clump of coyote hair... gross.

I had an arrow nocked, but then I dropped my quiver once I got up in the tree w/my climber. Oh well... did not need the extra arrows anyway.

Sat in zone 8 this morning, hit a doe a little forward and tracked her for 2 hours. Going back this afternoon. Had a 15" inside spread 6 point chasing does this morning before the shot.

    Hey Drag,

Were you up by Taylor Road (Rockaway South I think) - or do you hunt Berkshire Valley across 15? I am planning to be on our lease just north of there tomorrow AM. Haven't seen much there except for the occasional doe.

    Good luck.
    Bob

Right now I am just buck only hunting in Zone 6. I let the does walk... mostly because I hardly see any. I like to use the does as "bait".

Zone 13 and Zone 5 does... different story.

Saturday Morning I decided to hunt behinfd the house in a ladder stand about 10 yards form the corn pile. I knew I should be in my portable a little further from the corn but of course I got lazy and thought Id be fine in the ladder. All was going we'll, right up until I looked over my right shoulder and saw five does had snuck in behind me and now standing on the corn!!!! I was stuck and couldn't move!! They ate for a bit but were very nervous. Needless to say when I tried to get set they all busted me!!!! I was so pissed! I knew I had made a rookie mistake.

definately if your hunting on bait its a good idea to be a good 20 yards away...having the stand face away from the bait is good to...hides your movements and you cna use the tree hide behind whne gettin ready for the shot
