Hi all, I'm trying to be a goose hunter with little luck. Seems I don't know where to go, how to call or judge distances...and hevi-shot is really expensive. I really want to learn, and my pup would like to know why we get dressed to go hunting and then he just sits or plays.

If anyone could shed some light on the matter or better yet take me once or twice I sure would appreciate it. I'm in North central Jersey and willing to travel.

Mack, thanks for the bump. I'm a little disappointed with this many looks and what appears to be quite a few water fowlers that I only get a bump.

I did some scouting today at Black River and found about 20 mallards and another duck I couldn't make out in the small lake by the bridge on Ironia Road. Max, my lab took off after them and they circled around and went into the the MUA water area. I don't mind jumping ducks but the houses are too close there.

Anyone got any ideas for someone without a boat this year?

    pat
