Went up to the Upper Saddle river this afternoon.

Took my micro-light mini trout pole.
It’s only 4' long and is ultra, ultra light action and a Shimano TX500F rail.

This pole is a”Blast” every time you hook up with a trout it feels like your fighting a monster.

Talk about a fun few hours of fishing I fished about 2.5 hours and caught 17 trout.
10 Rainbows and 7 Brookies. Kept 6 that swallowed the hooks and were bleeding.

I swear I could have caught fish till dark but after the 6 fish swallowed the hook I called a day.
As for bait they were hitting everything from meallies & salmon eggs to roostertails.

Well that’s my fishing report for Monday.

The Upper Saddle river is as clean as the Flatbrook

it's more like a brook than a river up there.

It's not the” least bit polluted” Joe so I seen nothing to fear.

The water is so clean that there are even native browns that live up there.

Ahhh don't worry you will catch some.
I had 3 good days in a row and then I had a day like today when I could not catch anything. I lost a couple but that was it.

    Think like a Trout and you'll catch'em

Paul, are you fishing off of Lake St in Upper saddle River. I go past there all the time. I sometimes go to work up there I work off Chestnut Ridge rd at Benjamin Moore. I saw some guys fishing the River up that way off Lake st. That river up there is only like 4 feet across and clear as glass. Nice fish you got there. do you fish up there all the time? I am working up there again on April 26th and 27th and get out at 6pm if you want to meet up for a couple casts?

going to eat them from that river
Joe, I saw the brook or creek up that way and it is clean. The state tests the water that they stock and will not put fish in highly polluted water. It is a very nice area up that way and if you ever get a chance you should fish it.
