Chop up some celery and onions into a package of Stovetop Stuffing add a little Old Bay Seasoning mix and cook until about half done.
Put a quarter cup(more or less depending on the fillet size) of this HOT stuffing on top of a Triggerfish fillet then pin the opposite fillet on top with a couple of toothpicks. Sprinkle a little Old Bay Seasoning or Lemon Pepper on top and bake 15 minues at 350 degrees.
If your stuffing mixture is hot when you put it on the fish, 15 minutes should be plenty.
If you want to add a really nice taste and good looks to the dish too, smear whole mayonaise on top of each portion, sprinkle on a little Paprika then place under the broiler until the Mayonaise begins to brown.
I am sure there are better stuffings but this is quick, easy and mighty good.
Trigger fish Sandwiches
Fine, firm, white and tasty. Grilled with a touch of Lemon Pepper and a light brush of Olive Oil, served on a bun with Tartar Sauce and a side of Cole Slaw. MMMMM!
Lightly battered and fried works for a sandwich too.
In St Maarten this year, I made a sabichi (spelling is probably wrong). You chunk them up, add salt and papper, some other spices, cover in lemon or lime juice and let the acid from the juice basically cook them. Yummy [tasty]
Man they have tough skin tough dont they? I shot one with a pole spear one time, and I stuck him real hard.....the spear didnt even get all the way through. I was suprised.
i was at the second jetty in deal from asbury. One block north of neptune ave. i want to go to the big L jetty but it was crowded. the one i was at went out pretty far sudden i don't know if thats the one your talking about hyper
The area of the "L" jetty is at the "cove"/Allenhurst Beach Club. I used to fish it for years. There usually are a lot of divers there on the North side.
The sunkin' jetty that was referenced above may be the one we call the "The Hump Back" jetty between Phillips Ave. Beach Club and the Deal Casino Beach Club, just North on Ocean Ave., from where you were at ~ The beginning of the jetty is submerged in high tide, but the middle and tip are above water ~ it still extends out further than the visible tip.
Phillips Ave. Jetty, "The Hump Back" Jetty, Roseld Ave. Jetty, Roosevelt Ave. Jetty (all in Deal) are GREAT places to fish &/or dive!!! Lots of Blackfish and Stripers, as well as fluke.
We used to go to those jetties and spear the fish with homemade pole spears / Hawaiin Slings back in the 1980's and 1990's.
whent today me and my friend got our black fish first swing threw, shoulda used a pole spear today , they were all in the rocks,d9wn 5 feet, no need to dive to the sand. They were nice 3 lbers.
Sweet tasting chuncky like a monkie with drawn butter[cool][rofl]
