    Quiet Woods this season

Is it just me, or have the woods been quiet this season? I've scouted all of zone 11 and zone 8 and found little to no tracks, scat, scratching or general bird sign. I missed out on period A permits in my area, but when I went out this past monday and tuesday I wasn't hearing any gobbling and relatively few shots in the distance compared to previous years.
    Anyone else experiencing similar?

I have only been out a few times with all the rain we have been having and it has been quite in zone 9. Good luck to all.

On Tuesday and Wednesday night, I had 3-4 gobblers hammering away in the valley behind my house (zone 11) while i was using the impact drill to build a gazebo. Unfortunately the new landowner doesn't allow hunting on their property so i'm stuck with public land.
PA turkey season begins tomorrow so I will give it a shot there.

    Good luck everyone

Last 2 springs have been very rainy and poor nesting conditions. Gobblers are at a premium this year. Mostly mature old Tom's now.

After another season striking out, the turkey gods have decided to punish me.
For the past 2-3 weeks a group of of toms and jakes have been gobbling their heads off in the valley behind my property. My wife and kids tell me they gobble all day long. Every night when I get home from work and eat dinner in the backyard, its just gobbling nonstop until dark. Its like they are mocking me. Starting early this week, they decided to make my front lawn their strut zone. Just before 6am every day, like clockwork, 2-3 of the dominant toms start strutting and gobbling nonstop until around 7ish. Right outside my bedroom window.
Even last night while trout fishing on the Raritan S/B, I heard a group toms just hammering away despite all the people all around.
