    Best hunt of the season

Finally got a bird to sound off this morning at about 8:45.
Problem was...He is on the neighbors property and across a swollen stream from yesterdays rain. There is no way to get closer so I set up on the ridge overlooking the stream and about 50 yards from the property line.
After calling on and off for about 30 minutes, he sounded closer and on my side of the stream.
    NOW WE'RE COOK'N !
It took another 15 minutes of soft yelping and a couple of moves, to get him on the ridge, Once he came in sight about 70 yards away, Thats when I discovered he had Four hens with him !
I gave them the silent treatment, Hopeing they would continue to look for 'the hen'. After about five minutes or so I gave a short, sharp series of cuts and one of the hens, cutt back and came looking for me.
She was 10 yards to my right when the remaining hens and the Gobbler got to about 35 yards ,all the while he was strutt'n up a storm for his little harem.
The hen finally saw me as I adjusted my aim and gave a Putt...The Gobbler broke strut, stuck his head up and the Browning went Bang !!!
