Tough bow hunting those mountains, until they are really moving, unless you can find some acorns that they are hitting hard. Wait for the rut and get yourself in pass between two ridges and wait, or similar natural funnel. Good luck.

I use to hunt along the pipeline, always saw deer but hard to pattern, but then I didn't put in enough time in that area

Waste of time of skyline drive, you can go to skylands road and the gate should be open,if not then you have to go around through botanical garden. But there's trails that you can drive on with a free permit from state forest and a map they give you where you can and cannot hunt. I used to see some action on top of mountain by pipeline. If you go to far though you end up in Oakland or ny state.

Lol no where there's no deer up there. Especially if you see a red dodge with a swamp assassin sticker. I'm usually out there in November with a grill and radio blowing off fireworks lol

The other issue you have is there's only two parking spots where your allowed to park, but way to many hikers and bikers,so that's why it's better to find access from another area

Many years and miles spent walking that god foresakin mountain from camp tamarack.Deer sightings were rare!! Go the extra few miles and buy a watershed permit, still the deer hunting is poor but you may find a honey hole, plenty of parking along the rd without the weekend yahoo's.

How many vehicles fit in your driveway?
