I have a question about what i think is the Merck tract part of the south branch wma. Do i need to have a apermit to small game hunt on the wma. Because i see online it says this is a part of hunterdon county parks and you need a free deer permit to hunt there. But wondering about small game? Thanks guys
Hunting, Trapping, & fishing with my boy is what i love to do in life
so yes i do need a permit for small game too?
if it is a wma land, you only need license/ permits needed for any wma and your intended game.
the merck track is a wma but you still need a county permit and it has limited permits as are all hunterdon county parks but at $40 for non res aint to bad just res get first crack following week is open to everyone
That used to be a great spot maybe ten years ago before the state posted wma signs on it. Always did good with spring gobbler and throughout the deer seasons. Not sure how the place is now. You can hunt WMA without the permit but along the south eastern side there starts a good chunk of parks property that requires a permit.
For small game you need both a hunting license and a permit from the county. Sorry if this is a dumb question just starting out.
