with all these people losing gear every year i started putting a camera 30 ft hihg and 30 yds away from my stand. its pointed at my stand. the deer will come and go but putting a scumbags face on njh will destroy him. and follow thru with charges.

i remove my stand each night...i know thats hard for some because of size(tripods, ladder stands, etc.)..but i see no reason to leave your climber in the woods unless your hunting private property, and even then its not safe..again i give no other hunter a reason to know where iam hunting..unless he trips over my watermelons.

That is probably the best thing to do. I hunt public land and don't want to make it easier for lazier people to find where I hunt let alone take my gear.

Same here but this year I'm gonna lock up a couple climbers in different spots, I'm getting LAZY and I'm pretty frigg'n deep in the public places I go. I also bought a couple used climbers cheap just for that reason.

I love my climber but witha bad shoulder i have only one choice. After lugging my stand in & climbing my right shoulder is not safe enough to shoot my bow with. I have some perm. stands that if I lose I lose them.

i had a camera and a treestand stolen last october on private land, they both were locked up. i didn't want to go buy a new stand or camera this year because i didn't want the same thing to happen. i picked up a second hand stand and went out an got 5/16" chain and a brand new masterlock magnum shackle. if you can get through those, i'm obviously not meant to hunt out of a treestand.
