May hunt 6 day or permit shotgun. Spot I hunt (if i hunt it) is thick asnd nasty and no shot beyond 30 yards.

Who has used it successfully or at the range?

opinions good and bad are welcome.

My son has taken 2 of his deer with it. Both at under 20 yards and the Federal 3 buck out of a full choke dropped them in their tracks.

    Yes its legal.

Yeah I've got a 20 gauge mossberg pump, 24" barrel. Great quick handling gun for upland game. Can carry it all day. Was just thinkin to carry/use that vs a 12 gauge full size pump. I would be up in a stand. I aint walkin the woods (public land) during 6 day firarm.

If you've got a 12ga, especially if it's 3", and you have to use buckshot because of the terrain, you're gonna be sitting in a stand, I'd use the 12 instead of the 20ga.

If it's a ribbed barrel they sell a screw on front and rear sight or maybe just the rear as you have a front pin,so you could use slugs in case you get a further shot. Seen it once in either Ramsey's or Meltzer's.

I bought 2 boxes of 3" 20 ga. premium buckshot several years ago and never used it. If you are near Old Bridge, I'll let you have it cheap.
Enjoy life. It has an expiration date.
