    Can someone ID this noise?...

In my travels in Sussex County Turkey hunting, I heard these chirps a lot near water, but seemed to be coming from the trees. Kind of like a turkey purr?..... kind of like a frog?

Thought it might be a number of turkey acting like squirrel when theres a predator in the area sounding the alarm... Seemed to surround me at one point while in the woods, pond nearby...

well i'll be... never seen one in the woods...

thought they were sounding the alarm that a predator was in the area...like squirrels / chipmunks....

what's a frog doing up in a tree anyway... I'm trying to be stealthy and these things can be heard for a half mile...

I have heard that before. I usually blamed it on insects, like a cicada or cricket or something
