If you are shooting slugs make sure you have a gun with open sites on the barrel or a scope.

Also, i am assuming I do not need a pheasant stamp if I am not pheasant hunting, even though I will be on pheasant stocked public land?

i did read, hence my confusion. The part about the pheasant stamp reads:

"hunting or possessing pheasant or quail
on the following designated wildlife management areas shall have in possession a current and valid Pheasant and Quail Stamp "

Thus i was confused if this meant hunting at all on those WMAs, or specifically targeting pheasant. It is clear one is needed to possess a pheasant, but i was unclear if i needed one to hunt on those WMAs in the first place, even though i am not pheasant hunting. Thank you for the clarification.

A lot of regs may seem confusing but you now understand some. Please pick up a copy of the digest and leave in your bathroom. Read it over, if still unsure, please ask. If you are still unsure, please send me a PM with your question. I promised a dear friend who is no longer with us I would help those young hunters in need as he did. RIP Stevo, miss you my brother!

.....seems I need a scope on there or sights to legally use slugs, so buck shot it is. Guess ill have to stick to bow hunting ranges, since i know buckshot doesn't do well out past 40-50 yards. Anywhere in NJ that I can pattern some buckshot? Seems that the state WMA ranges dont allow it, but anywhere else?
