Winter Bow 2017 - anyone else looking forward to it?

Due to some family obligations, fall and permit bow did not happen for me. Firearm (6-day) got interfered with by work, like muzzy. Winter bow, however, is the season that is quickly becoming my favorite. I have a slow month coming up at work, combined with few (if any) family responsibilities, so winter bow will be when I get to spend time in the woods. It's a great time of the year in my zone (Z26), no firearms deer hunting after 12/31. Pretty much only die-hards left out there.

Can not wait for next Sunday.....

I like it to see what survived. See what shows up. And most guys are either tagged out or its too cold for them. Checked a cam today and well....Can't post it here. Lol. Regardless he's totally nocturnal so I'm not too excited. I'll take another doe for freezer and if a buck walks by and I start twitching and drooling...Schwack.

    Good luck this winter bow.

There's something special about trudging to your stand just after a big storm in a foot or more of snow, and bagging a big fat doe:Name: IMG_0207.JPG

I can not wait. I got to see a bunch of bucks on my one property that made it through 6 day, 2 of them would be my biggest.

So needless to say, I will be out Sunday and Monday afternoon.

I have always liked the winter season , and the possibility of hunting on snow.
Sadly the gun seasons go till mid February in all three zones I hunt. and with guys around me gun hunting hard its usually only the last week of the season when things quiet down and get back to normal

Shot a shedded buck last year in zone 9 in February.. Not a more sickening feeling. Had good bases too. However.. I see antlers I'm shooting.
