parker goes to safe when cocked
Hunting....Its All About The Gear!!!!!
I treat mine like a gun... same rules, etc. Damn things are crazy lethal!!!!
United we stand, Divided we fall.
First, a comment above about taking the safety off "If I hear deer approaching" is absurd (to me). The only time the safety should come off is when you are on target and ready to fire. Same for a gun. No ifs ands or buts about it. Sorry if this hurts any feelings but thats what I was taught as a kid growing up hunting. Small game, big game, cross bow, rifle--safety on. Secondly, is it possible if the guy had any type of first aid training or survival training (instincts) he may be alive? I am sure the initial shock of being shot is traumatic but you need to get that under control and get a belt or rope tied around that arm ASAP. Sad for him and his family. Hopefully this will be a lesson and save someones life on here. Stay safe out there.
My Barnett's have auto safety....in fact the safety can't be disengaged unless the bolt is on the rail and fully seated against the string....the safety never comes off till a few seconds before I shoot while I'm on target with the but to my shoulderWhich brand(s) do that? Mind doesn't.
Lord make me fast and accurate,
May my draw be smooth and unseen
Let my aim be straight and my shot true,
Grant me the skill to make the shots I can,
The restraint to avoid those I can't,
And the wisdom to know the difference,
So that I may be blessed with the bounty you provide
