10 feet is questionable ??? If there's canopy or thick pine area .....perhaps but hardwood forest is a gamble. I found that ground blinds when set properly with proper back screening really hides any movement . I've taken more deer on the ground then stands ... Element of surprise and stealth .

If you have a backdrop you'll be okay. But if you have a blind it may work out for you better

I agree with a lot of comments on here, I am shot more deer from the ground than from tree stands, and I think that messing with the area too much mid season could risk spooking the deer.

Groundblinds are def effective. I brush mine in real good and only open the front window. Make sure to wear dark camo also. Have had a deer within ten yds on almost every sit this year

Thats just the thing ... I wouldn't leave anything there for the animals to get use to , use a blow down or make a brush pile into a horseshoe , sit inside the horseshoe so that you'll remain seated and your able to glance to the left or right of a travel corridor .effectivly made out of natural material will leave less scent and visual conspicuousness thus less of a chance of spooking mid season game. . Those big pop ups are great but I'd go low impact ..... Especially mid game .

.I always carry a small hunting saw in my pack..trust me I have cut branches on my way up and deer still came by..they dont associate the sound with danger.
i pay to hunt here....do you "pay to hike here"

the 2nd ammendment is more important than the 1st..."have you ever tried to talk yourself out of getting robbed?"

The forest is one big food plot

Cut as close to trunk as possible especially if branch is on backside of tree where cables on climber are gonna be
