Im not too much into hunting bear but if i saw a big one it was possible i would have shot it. That being said........Do you think its ethical to shoot the juvenile bears that i have been seeing so many pictures of?

Ill answer my own question. I dont think its ethical. I think its borderline embarrassing. Just my worthless opinion

Well they say a trophy is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I wouldnt shoot a cub but its legal to do so here. I do not fault anyone in shooting anything legal I have shot my fair share of fawns in my 24 years of hunting not much difference in them and cubs. I guess if you are hunting for the meat alone then why not take a cub I am sure their meat is much more tender than my 200 pounder and way more tender than the 700 pound bears that were shot this year. Just my 2 cents though

I passed on two cubs last year, i wouldnn't shoot the mother. The pair would have made fuzzy slippers for me. But, this is a management hunt, and we are supposed to drop the numbers no matter the size. If a hunter is comfortable with shooting a small bear, I'm fine with it.

Given the fact that the bear hunt is a management hunt with the goal of removing bears, any bears, out of the population, yes I believe it is ethical to harvest any bear regardless of size.
With an estimated success rate of 6 out of 100 hunters going home with a bear, any bear taken in NJ is a well earned trophy.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Whether a 40 pound yearling button buck or an 80 pound yearling bear, whatever is legal and makes the hunter happy is just fine with me!
    Dawgs, ever harvest a fawn?

I would never shoot a fawn but I would shoot a cub. What am I going to do with 100 pounds of bear meat if I shoot and adult??????
