    Wolfs.

I'm new to hunting so I don't know when certain things are good or bad but, I just had two huge wolves came up behind me about ten yards away. They ran when I made noise but scared the piss out of me? Is their presence good or bad?

If you think a coyote is huge, good thing it wasn't really a wolf
They are both good and bad.
Good that they came in without being alerted to you, they are pretty skittish. Means you are doing something right.
Bad if they loaf around, they will keep deer from coming in.

Lol they were bigger than my full grown English foxhound and grey. Lol scared the heck out of me so maybe my mind is exaggerating I googled pictures of coyote they look small compared to what I saw. But when I made noise they ran like ten feet stopped looked up at my tree and trotted off. Into the brush. If they come back can I shoot them no matter what or do I need a permit for coyote and wolf.

You can shoot them. Be sure they are coyotes and not someones dog.
There are no wolves in NJ.
