Saturday my daughter and I had a great time on her first hunt, youth day Zone 38 ( Great Swamp). We hit the woods around 645 and from 820 -1020 it was action and adventure. We saw 3 bucks, 4 does, 3 bears and a red fox. The turkeys seranaded us witht their gobbles. We hunted from the ground and a pair of Bears popped out in front of us, 20 yes away and closed to within 15 yds, my daughter was pretty freaked, my heart rate was elevated as well. She rallied back and wanted to stay in the woods. She shot this 6 pointer at 1020 in the morning, heck of a first hunt for an 11 year old and not too shabby for anyone given the volume of animals and the bear encounter.
