    crows

Made my first crow hunt for this season this afternoon in Central Jersey pass shooting while they flew to their roost. Looked like all of the wintering birds are here already.

Used mouth calls without decoys. Lots of fun. Should be a good season.

I used to shoot them in PA a lot years ago. seemed the shotgun blasts just got them more excited if they cannot see you .

I use them for decoys. When I returned Monday, one was missing. Eagles, hawks and owls eat them. Didn’t fire a shot Monday because every crow flew too high. When it’s cloudy and not windy they all fly back to their roost out of shooting range. There are two Indian tribes at //www.crowbusters.com that want crow feathers.

I never shot a banded crow. Only 15 banded crows were shot in NJ since 1960.
