got a big doe tn and very happy about that. after i shot the doe about 10 minutes later a shooter 8 walks out. he gave me numerous perfect broadside oppurtunities at 15 yards but i didn't shoot. not sure if it would have been legal. would it have been so i know for next year? i'll be back out next weedend looking for him thonow i did the eab thing.

As long as you checked in your doe before you shoot the buck yes. Shoot the doe, watch it fall, check it in from the stand and you're good to go for the buck
When times are tough and flocks are small, take your time and shoot them all.

Kudos for being ethical with no one watching over your shoulder. Good luck and karma heading your way. Congratulations on the doe.

I think the compendium changed too this year. If I am not mistaken some zones you are allowed to shoot two deer and then check them in.

That is a valid question, most of the responses were partially correct! To clarify it for you;you must harvest a doe first, check it in on your phone, and MOST IMPORTANTLY this year affix a tag too it before you could legally have shot that buck. You are allowed too harvest 2 deer prior to checking the first one in now. But that doesn't apply prior too fulfilling the EAB rule!!! You could have legally shot another doe,but not that buck with out getting out of your stand and placing a tag on it! Hope that helps! Good luck
