    Help with my GSP

Donna is a female GSP 8 months old
    crated dog, crate trained
99% no problems during the day, she goes out for pee and poop
She is in obedience training, she already got Come, Sit, Whoa.
    adding Heel and down now.
She is good, amazing. She runs everyday on my big backyard, she chases wings
    and retrieve dummys

    BUT BUT, what kills me...
She pees almost every single night IN the crate
last pee is about 9:30 - 10 pm
first visit to the dirt is 5:40 am for pee and poop.

I don't know what to do, she holds well
BUT it looks like sometimes she forget to ask or is too lazy to go out
but almost every night she pees in the crate.
after 6pm we don't let her drink water but anyway...

    what I am doing wrong?

    help please!

    Another question,
today Donna got a young starling in my backyard, she chased it and kill it
I didn't know what to do... if stopped or try to get the bird from her. Eventually I took it from her
but it took me by surprise.

    I would appreciate any advice.

    Thank you

If the crate is big enough for her to pee in one part and lay down away from where she peed then put a piece in it so that there is just enough room for her to curl up to sleep and also cut the water at 5PM to only a small amount.

I agree with RPKO620, if that doesn't help check to see if she a UTI

What was mentioned above with the crate is good advice
If she has always peed in the crate at night I don’t think it’s a uti, they tend to go or try to go frequently and it smells bad.
Try setting an alarm around 1am and take her out to go until she realizes she’s not allowed to go in the crate as she has always done during the night follow that up with a little discipline.

For getting birds I personally wouldnt do anything.
She’s at the age where she needs training on live birds and shown what is expected of her holding points not chasing and not chewing birds, one thing at a time if you don’t have the time to do it then take her to a reputable trainer.
It’s good that she has natural instinct to hunt she needs guidance is all.

like stated above, shorten the crate. Mine came with a metal divider so as my GSP got bigger, I could adjust the size of the crate. As RPK stated, only enough room to sleep

I need to have more information. Did you have her to the vet for this issue? Is her crate close to someone in the house where she can hear or see you? Does she bark or wine.

You said you don't give her water after 6pm. She has to be getting it from somewhere. She is still a pup at 8 months and needs water. One rule is to pick up the water 2 hrs before the last time she goes out. So, if she goes in the kennel for the night at 11pm pick the water up at 9pm. Females tend to have a weaker bladder then males especially at this age.

The scent of her urine is in the crate. You need to wash it out every time and use some type of scent cover or she will continue to pee there. A typical household scented cleaner is good.

You can only correct her for peeing if you see it happen. If you find it in the morning there is nothing to correct her for. Just clean it and move on.

Remember she is still a pup.

As for the killing the starling, that is what she was bread for. That's a good dog................ Maybe you got the wrong breed of dog for what you want.
