You'll be alright, makes you sick to your stomache right?

Well, that's good, your a hunter who gives a crap about his prey.

I would be really worried if you didn't give a crap, and I have met guys who will throw arrows, bullets, grenades and don't care about what they hit or not hit. They are into killing, and probably the same guys that used to step on cats tails and blow up frogs.

    You get the drift,

Don't beat yourself up, just go out and say a little prayer for the animal and continue on.

    You will get it done.

I spent the afternoon practicing and this morning instead of going back out there
I think that was a great idea.

I've always hit higher on a target while elevated compared to ground level. I needed to get up in a stand, set up target and adjust accordingly. I bend at the waist now and now have the hang of it. But we all still can shank a shot.

It happens! It's a terrible feeling when you hit one, and don't find it, but it's part of the sport. Keep your head up.

Happened to me last year. I searched for hours on my hands and knees in the thickest crap and eventually to where the woods opened up and knew the doe went into a residential area. Even drove around looking. Felt like crap for days but it passed. I totally misjudged the distance in a rush and hit the lower chest briscuit. I'm sure she survived.

Like others have said here, shows you care. Get back out there you'll do fine.
