    My biggest buck zone 10

Hello everyone, not much of a writer, but I will give it a shot. The entire reason I moved out to Hunterdon county from east jersey was to be able to hunt my own property. I love being able to get home from work and go sit in a tree on my land, it's surreal at times.

My property has some good deer, and out back I know the bucks cruze back and forth especially during the rut.

Yesterday was like any other, besides losing power and having a gigantic ash across the back driveway, I just looked at it as more firewood and a very small inconvenience. I set up the all house generator for the wifey and hemmed and hawed about going out or not. It was windy, and I hate hunting in the wind, do to my loss of hearing from the machinery I ran in the Navy, I cant hear very well when its windy.

I decided to go sit in a stand in the back and it was pretty nice out, windy at times but in between quiet enough to hear some things. I had two doe come off the ridge and after they browsed through, I decided to hit the bleat can and do some soft grunts. After the third set (15 minutes apart) I hear a crashing coming down off the ridge and see this buck looking for a fight, it was so cool and the adrenaline kicked in and honestly, dont know how I didnt get busted by him, I had to turn all the way around to grab my bow and then all the back to square off on him and take the shot. Shot was true and this 200 lb 8 point took off like 50 mph right into a tree and fell dead.

I had to hold onto the tree for a moment to get my composure, thanked the good Lord, got down and the work began, drag was brutal but worth every moment.
