Quacker, I have a Rock Island Tactical I purchased several years ago. I have shot hundreds of rounds out of it with no problems (hollow points and ball ammo). I would buy another one if I needed another. My brother was dura coating one of his long guns so I decided to do the frame of it. One thing I would have done different would be to get the 4inch barrel over the 5. Its a heavy gun to carry.Name: 1911.jpg

Did you purchase it in NJ MasterBaiter? I have a hard time "shopping around" for guns because a lot of shops don't Cary certain guns. That is a very sharp looking gun, I really like Cerikote and would like to do a gun or two eventually.

I bought mine at Sarco's when they were in NJ. They have since moved to Easton , PA. I just looked at their web page and they now have one with a 1913 rail for a weapon mounted light. That's the one I need!

Still looking? It might be a little bit of a trip for you but they have a decent selection at RTSP in Randolph. They also have some rentals if you would like to try before you buy.

Here is a pic only 150 rounds down the pipe, original box, manual, lock, and 3 colt stamped mags. The only this that I did to it was to add a Wilson Combat recoil buffer. $800 picked up in North Jersey Randolph area. NJ FID, matching NJ drivers license, and handgun permit required. Also must not have purchased a handgun in the last 30 days. Pls let me know if you are interested.
