    Recommend a Shotgun Scope

I'm looking for a scope to mount on a single shot shotgun. The gun cost me $135 so I'm looking for a cheap-ish scope that will hold up well. This is for my 10 year old son to use for deer.

Ideal would be 4x fixed with a long eye relief since he has to stretch to get 3" from where the back of the scope would be.

I don't need fancy. I don't care what brand. I just need durable- as I mentioned this is for my 10 year old son so it will get banged around.

Anybody make a cheap, no frills, 4x shotgun scope that will survive being banged against every tree we walk past on our way to the deer stand?

Don't know of any cheap scope that will handle being banged against a tree. Try a Tasco.,

Do not cheap out on the scope. the Nikon Slughunter is the perfect scope for that single shot and when you upgrade him to the savage 220 you can move it right over. Cheap glass is what it is

I mounted a nikon prostaff 2-7x32 scope on my cousins Mossberg 500. It's a nice scope for the money and you can put it on any slug gun in the future if you upgrade guns. $138 on amazon right now

x2. I have a slughunter and it's a great scope for the price, even in low light.

But the real question on his post is,CAN IT GET BANGED ON EVERY TREE? I say is he hunting with it,or chopping down trees.

Lol! I think his son needs to treat his firearm with some respect and as if it were loaded.

Best answer yet,NORTHNJHUNTER>If your son can't take care of his equipment he shouldn't be hunting with it.

He's a responsible kid. But he's 10. Remember the Messy Marvin commercials? Imagine Messy Marvin goes hunting.
