Does anyone on here shoot a Parker Challenger. It is a youth model crossbow. I am seriously thinking about buying one for my son. He turns 10 this month and will be hunting this fall.

I read some reviews from this summer about cracked limb issues. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this crossbow.

    hunterbob1, wow very helpful.
The guy asked about the quality of a product not for a morality lecture. 10 years old great way to start him hunting. Keeps him interested because he will be able to shoot properly in short order. Sounds like a great idea to get a kid started. My experience with Parker was less than pleasant (different model)

Go with a wicked ridge invader or raider or find a used tenpoint Titan.

I know, kid's get bored real fast, especialy if he can't get it right away. Not saying to be mean! He'll just miss the real meaning and acomplishment of the challenge.I started with a 30# glass recurve from 2 guys from harrison.Just saying if he starts with a crossbow then to me that's not archery tradition. Not telling him what to do just my opinion, not knocking him wanting to get him started!Hope they have fun.The whole thing intended by legalizing crossbow by f&w was for older people who could no longer pull a bow.

Real meaning to you, the OP didn't ask for your opinion on crossbows vs compounds. Crossbows are great, fun, legal, and get people in the woods.

If you were going to teach a child basketball would you make him master the 3 point shot before you teach him a layup?
