I took a ride through my 1 year old hinge cut area today.
The act of killing is visceral .......
How long would a 50 lb bag of corn last? lol
We have been doing this in Maryland for 2 years now. Made the woods thicker, provided more bedding and trails that they can only see 30 to 40 yds. ahead. We have made amazing progress and have put small plots in the woods in a couple of these trails. This makes a big difference!!!!
Nice work pays off.......
wow, is this jersey ? if so i can help thin the herd .lol
Looks like you need some doe management there.
Enjoy life. It has an expiration date.
I saw a lot of deer in the video, but didn't see any half cut trees!?!? And for some reason, only half screen of the video shows up on post, what's up with that (happens on other posts with videos too). Hinge cutting is a great, innovative habitat management trick tho!
By leaving the outer edges of the woodlot more open, the deer usually wont bed there allowing a hunter to get in a stand undetected. Never enter the core area of the farm especially during hunting season. It only takes one deer crashing through the woods and it will empty out like the video. If you want to keep them around, they must not know you are hunting them and you definately dont want to push deer to the neighbors.
Hunt the edge and let them come to you. Get them in a pattern, they are very predictable if you can keep the pressure to a minimum on your property

I also have 5 acres of food plots that still have food. Food cover and water= deer.
