I'm starting to see extensive damage in the northern portion of zone 6. The chestnut oaks are completely defoliated on Sparta Mt WMA and the white oaks are not much better. The red oaks are doing fine.

Haven't seen much of the gypsy moth yet but the inchworms are extremely heavy this year -- Seeing damage on trees all over - and you can't walk under one without getting the silk all over you --

Park under a tree and your car is peppered with inchworm turds quick -- at night you can hear them eating and crapping

I'm seeing this all around the area -- where the corners of Middlesex, somerset, and union counties meet

Not seeing any in my immediate area (branchville) but I have seen quite a few through out the walpack and stokes while fishing, more then previous years by far. Hate those things.

They are really hammering the Poconos right now.
Sitting in the woods there all you can hear is them eating and shitting.
even just a few minute walk through the woods and they are all over you
