How do you measure beaver? Inches from the left-front foot to the back-right foot + the inches from the right-front foot to the back-left leg = the total size. For example, if the hide is 28 inches from the front-left to the back-right, and the hide is 28 inches from the front-right to the back-left you will have a 55"-59.9" beaver size.

A note regarding green beaver hides: It is almost impossible to accurately grade green beaver hides because you never know for sure how big the hide will stretch and how many damages will be discovered after fleshing. Anytime I buy green beaver hides someone gets an unfair deal (usually me). Because of this, no fur checks will be issued for green beaver hides until after they have been scraped and stretched. A finishing fee will be deducted from the final value. Here is the finishing fee price list for green beaver hides:

    60" and up: $5 each

    50" thru 59.9": $3 each

    49.9" and down: $1 each

Beaver Castor (Semi-dry without damages): $35 / pound

    Beaver heads: $1 each

Bobcat (Finished, with / I & II grades)

    32" - 35.9": $44

    28" - 31.9": $39

    27.9" and shorter: $17

    Deduct 50% for III grades

    Deduct 75% for IV grades

    Green Hides: Deduct $1

    In-the-Round: Deduct $3

    Bobcat heads: $1 each
Muskrat (Finished, with / I & II grade)

    15.5" and longer: $7.00

    13" - 15.4": $4.50

    10" - 12.9": $2

    9.9" and shorter: $0.75

    Deduct 50% for III grades

    Deduct 75% for IV grades

    Green Hides: Deduct $1

    In-the-Round: Deduct $3

Mink (Finished, with I & II grade)

For female mink the size is measured from the nose to the base of the tail. For male mink the size is measured from the nose to the base of the tail, then measure across the base. Multiply the base width by 2 and add the length to get the total male size.

    24" or longer male: $15

    23.9" and shorter male: $8

    15" or longer female: $8

    14.9" and shorter female: $4

    Deduct 50% for III grades

    Deduct 75% for IV grades

    Green Hides: Deduct $1

    In-the-Round: Deduct $3

The whole flock is safer when the wolves can't tell the difference between the lions and the lambs.

Man when I was a kid I used to get 7.00 for a muskrat like 35.00 for a coon and 95.00 for a fox... Hardly seems worth the effort at the prices now.. You guys must really love it, god bless and good luck.

100 to 200 coon at 10 to 18 pays for alot of hunting.

most buyers are not deducting for coon on color any more who is the buyer. the prices look good for this year. just do not like the color that is old school I have not sold anything or heard so I will stop into zanders and see what he is paying.

True, but back in the mid to late 80s when we were getting $25 - $35 per coon, they paid for a lot more
