4 of us got 20 birds put out. Mike brought his dog Henry, yellow lab and I brought mine, Buddy, another yellow lab. Well this was Buddys 1st time in the field. He'll bring birds back to me in the back yard but not in the field. Henry did good. Dog points and retrieves. Although I think Henry wanted to eat the bird. We got 11 birds that were flushed by the dogs and 2 in the beginning that were flushed to far away and flew to the woods. It looked like the fox's got to a few birds before we got there. I thought we did bad but when I spoke to 1 of the guides there he told me that a guy put 10 of his own birds out. 1 hour later he flushed 4 and only got 2. The other 6 were gone, not there any more. All in all had a great time with good friends.

It was! I love bird hunting. I really just started and I'm sorry I didn't pick it up years ago.

    how was the cover?.
It was tough hunting. There were a lot of spots where the thick grass was bent over and covered with snow. Good hiding place. The guides that put the birds out try to dig a nice hole in other areas with their boot and tuck the bird in there. Some of the areas had snow still 15 to 20 inches deep. Try walking through that all suited up.

yeah that is why i put the bow away for the year. couldnt imagine dragging a deer through this sh!t. i remember bird hunting in snow like this as a kid.it sucks, good workout for your legs, but i rather keep my workouts in the gym..i remember alot of the field cover would get effd up but the woods cover stayed ok to hold birds, we always had alot of runners in the snow
